Sorry, We Have Moved…

Not really of course, just literally!  CurtCorp.com is still right here, and infact you are looking at it right now but we (as in people we) have moved down the street recently and during the process the website has been on hiatus for about a month.  Check out some pics of our new porch!  And these.  And this!*  Woah!

*Warning: CurtCorp cannot give you those 3 minutes of your life back.  You should have just clicked something else after half-way through like we did.  Interesting choice of music though…

CurtCorp Stickers Coming Soon!

Here’s the template for the first ever batch of CurtCorp stickers!  We recently ordered a roll of heavy-duty sticker paper that’s half a football field long! (not including the endzones- sorry kids)  We’ll be cutting and screen-printing the stickers ourselves and when they’re done we’ll be giving them away!  We’ll let you know how you can get some for yourself and your loved ones soon…. stay tuned.

Hey folks, it’s summer time and things have been busy!  Below we have a work-in-progress tracing I’m making of this guy Dionysus (the creepy armless guy in the middle) and his ‘crazy wimen.’  Apparently he’s one of those ‘Greek Gods’ and he’s got some crazy urban legends floating around on the internet.  Anyways, if you want to read more about him and his wine and orgy loving ways check this out.

I found the original image while trying to read a very interesting (although difficult to comprehend) article about the use of entheogens in religion.  Here’s an excerpt that’s somehow related to the drawing above, although were not 100% sure how…

“Mental constructs are dynamic association matrixes of mental representations, held together by some degree of binding intensity. Ordinary-state cognition is settled and immersed in standard ruts of patterns and mental associations, such as trying to improvise on a musical instrument but ending up playing repeated patterns. Having a recognizable personality relies on such habitual patterns of dynamic mental construct associations, which are somewhat dynamic, but are restricted to a characteristic mode. Behind their mask of habit-based, pseudo-separate agency, everyone is Dionysus (that is, the ultimate control-source).  Entheogens cause their various phenomenological effects by loosening cognitive associations, which causes mental construct processing to be revealed as artificial representationalism and projection.”

Whew!  Wonder what’s going on there!?  Read Michael Hoffman’s entire article here and discover why ancient people were so crazy!  You can also find the original image that the above drawing was based on.  Expect to see Dionysus and some similar strangeness on some shirts sometime in the future.

- On a completely unrelated note, here’s a classy number by my man Cal Tjader!

Ho Down Recap!

Well, the Ho Down this year was bigger than anyone could have imagined.  There were an estimated 700 or so people in attendance and from the looks of it everyone had a great time!

Above is a picture from the Ho Down.  To see all the pics, click here.  Here’s one before anyone showed up and here’s what the site looked like the day after- part 1/part 2.  (Don’t worry, it all got cleaned up)

We sold the Ho Down t-shirts from our friends’ ‘VIP area’ pop-up camper.  For a limited time (until June) you can get the Ho Down shirt here, in more colors and sizes than were originally available at the show!

Many thanks to Patti K, Jimbo, and Colin for putting on this awesome event, and thanks to all the bands and everyone else who helped make the Ho Down possible!
